Sinus congestion occurs when fluids are trapped in the sinuses caused by a sinus infection, allergies, a cold, or the flu, which make it hard to go about your daily life as normal, and sometimes the simple act of breathing can be a challenge.

  • Staying hydrated

  • Saline nasal spray

 A saline nasal spray such as Nisita is a natural OTC medication that helps moisturize your nasal cavity, thin out the mucus in your nasal passages, keep it hydrated, congestion-free, and functioning properly.

  • Applying warm, wet towels

Place a damp warm towel and compress over your upper nose and lower forehead which may help relieve the swelling and inflammation of sinus congestion.

  • Raising the head during sleep

Congestion often feels worse at night. For a comfortable sleep, lie on your back and use an extra pillow to elevate your head, which prevents mucus from building up and relieves sinus pressure.

  • Essential oils

Eating spicy foods such as peppers, ginger, and garlic can help open up the nasal passages by increasing fluids leading to a runny nose. Boosting your immunity with spices like turmeric which has anti-inflammatory properties and garlic which is believed to have both anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that make it useful in treating congestion related to colds. 

Therefore, Natural OTC medication such as Nisita and some supportive natural remedies can safely relieve your symptoms and help clear up nasal congestion.
